We are a team of professional translators and interpreters with long corporate background.
We are Aliseo Japan's translators and interpreters, an Italian native speaker and a Japanese native speaker respectively that when it's needed in translation work as a team to obtain the perfect understanding of the source language (Italian, Japanese or English) and perfect rendering in the target language (Japanese or Italian).
"Aliseo" is the singular form of "alisei", the Italian name of the so-called "trade winds", and Aliseo Japan is the trade name of a team made up of two professional independent translators specialized in Italian, English and Japanese. Our career of full-time professionals started in Milan, Italy in 1996, and then developed further in Japan where we have been residing since 1997. However, our linguistic skills took shape well before that, above all with plenty of theoretical education and then as corporate members.

I was was born in 1963 in Nagoya (Japan). In Tokyo I specialised in the teaching of the Japanese language and at the same time I studied Italian. From 1987 to 1989 I taught Japanese in a private school in Italy and spent these years to expand my Italian knowledge. From 1990 to 1996 I was employed as Japanese Vice-Presidents' Secretary of a prestigious cosmetic company based in Milan. Here I was entrusted with a liaison responsibility between the local and the Head Quarter's Managers, and I was also responsible, among other things, for the translation of periodical reports and specialized technical and marketing magazines and the Interpreting for the visiting Japanese managers. Until 1997 I worked as freelance professional in the public relation business in Milan, and since 1997 I have been freelance translation and interpreter in Japan after co-funding Aliseo Japan with my husband Mario Cerutti.

I was born in 1955 near Bergamo (Italy). After obtaining a diploma at the local School of Art I entered the Naval Academy of Leghorn, soon after becoming Officer of the Italian Navy with a particular specialization in missiles and conventional weapon systems). I also graduated in Marine and Naval Science from the University of Pisa. In 1985 I switched to the civil career and started to work for Italian and foreign high-tech companies with growing responsibilities as International Marketing and Sales Executive. In 1989 I became the General Manager of the Italian branch of an important North-American group specialised in non-destructive quality equipment and plants, where I gained a considerable experience in domestic and international contracts, accounting, legal matters as well as in new technical domains. In 1997 I co-funded Aliseo Japan with my wife Taeko Kani, where I have been translator and interpreter.
