"Aliseo" means "trade wind" in Italian. Aliseo Japan is the trade name of a team of two professional independent translators specialized in Italian and Japanese translations and interpretation. We started up in Milan, Italy, in 1995, with the aim of making it a cultural and business bridge between Italy and Japan. We have been living in Japan since 1997.

I was was born in 1963 in Nagoya (Japan). In Tokyo I specialised in English and the teaching of Japanese to foreigners; I also taught Japanese in Italy from 1988 to 1990. From 1990 to 1995 I was employed as the Japanese Vice-Presidents' Secretary of a prestigious cosmetic company based in Milan. Here I was entrusted with a liaison responsibility between the local and the Head Quarter's Managers, and I was also responsible, among other things, for the translation of periodical reports and the Interpretation to visiting Japanese managers. From 1995 to 1997 I worked as freelance professional in the public relation business and in 1997 I finally started in Japan the ongoing freelance translation and interpreting career (creating Aliseo Japan with my husband Mario Cerutti).

I was born in 1955 near Bergamo (Italy). After obtaining a diploma in Art I entered the Naval Academy of Leghorn, soon after becoming Officer of the Italian Navy with a particular specialization in missile and conventional weapon systems). I am also graduated in Marine and Naval Science at the University of Pisa. In 1985 I switched to the civil career and started to work for Italian and foreign high-tech companies with growing responsibilities as International Marketing and Sales Executive. In 1989 I became the General Manager of the Italian branch of an important North-American group specialised in non-destructive quality inspections, where I made a considerable experience also in contract and legal matters. In 1997 I created Aliseo Japan with my wife Taeko Kani.
