In over 13 years of professional interpreting work, besides the many years spent in large high-tech companies we have accumulated considerable experience in many technical and non-technical fields alike.
Since it is almost impossible or even futile and burdensome for us to list and keeping up-to-date all our interpreting jobs, in this page we provide only a list of the main subject matters we have been called to deal with.
Of course linguistic skills are of paramount importance. However often they are not enough. In fact, considering that every single interpreting service is different from all the others because the client himself is different and thus different is the way he values the interpreter's role, basically the interpreter should:
To afford all this the interpreter should be either especially endowed or acquire such abilities through direct experience, which on its turn takes much time.
We carried out our first Italian-Japanese interpreting job in Milano in 1996 for a world-wide known jewellery company. Before that, Taeko Kani was the secretary of the two Japanese Vice-Presidents of the Japanese company she had worked for until 1996, where she was in charge of translation and interpreting activities for the visiting head office executives and the local media. Since then she has been developing her linguistic skills in many other industrial sectors, mostly small and medium-size Italian and Japanese companies willing to establish a business relationship. From jewellery, then, to many other fields - including technical ones - with a stream of opportunities further developed after our move to Japan in 1977.
Mario Cerutti's professional and educational profile is a synthesis of the specialisations and the general expertise, including managerial skills, which he built during many years in large international high-tech companies.
