Industrial corporation-driven translation experience
Our Italian-Japanese-Italian and English-Japanese professional translation experience begun in 1996 in Italy as a result of two parallel educational and applied paths: apart from the general and specialised linguistic studies carried out through the years, for Taeko Kani the most significant practical experience came when working for the Italian branch of a worldwide leading Japanese company, while for Mario Cerutti it dates back to the time of the Italian Navy and then when working for several high-tech companies.
It can therefore be said that we provide a combined translation capability resulting from a comprehensive linguistic and specialized knowledge also obtained through active collaboration, for example in the Italian-Japanese language pair. Here, when necessary we work side by side to guarantee the perfect understanding of the source text (Japanese or Italian) and the correct translation into the target language (Italian or Japanese).
Besides, Mario Cerutti's English-Italian translation ability begun more than 30 years ago on U.S. missile and electronic system manuals used in the Italian Navy, an exceptional basis which is still very useful to understand the newest and most complex technical subjects.
Since then, new experience in international sales and marketing as well the position as General Manager in the Italian branch of an important US industrial group have contributed significantly to the current English language capability in new fields such as legal and contract. The ability to write and understand international contracts along with their legal implications as well as discussing them with Italian and international clients is still a precious asset in our translation process of all sorts of corporate documents.
Finally, the overall knowledge acquired so far in the English-Italian language pair greatly contributes also to our Italian-Japanese-Italian translation process, since the ability to cross-check in English helps us understanding better the most difficult Japanese terms and expressions that often cannot be found in the currently available general Italian-Japanese dictionaries.
